James Acaster and Ed Gamble’s hit podcast Off Menu is heading to Manchester

Off Menu, the hit podcast from comedians James Acaster and Ed Gamble, is heading out on its first live tour, and will be stopping in Manchester. They’ll be playing the O2 Apollo on October 29.

It’s the first time that the stand-up stars have toured the podcast, which is made up of eight UK dates so far, including a headline slot at the Royal Albert Hall in London. The pair created the series in 2018, with Acaster playing the ‘genie waiter’ and Gamble the maitre’d of a fictional restaurant.

Each week, they interview an invited guest about their dream starter, main course, side dish, drink and dessert. Prior to each interview, the comedians reveal a secret ingredient that one or other of them does not like, and if the interviewee mentions it, they’re ejected from the restaurant without their dinner.

Over its nine series, and more than 50 million downloads, guests have included Richard Osman, Claudia Winkleman, Big Zuu, Tom Kerridge, Louis Theroux, Jamie Oliver, Stanley Tucci, Michelle Keegan, Dan Aykroyd and Nadiya Hussain. Who will be in the hot seat for the Manchester date is yet to be revealed.

Ed Gamble said: “I am mad with joy that we finally get to put the dream meals on wheels.” James Acaster added: “Like Shrek and Donkey, Ed and I are off on a noble quest and we won’t stop until we find our happily ever after.”

Tickets go on sale at 10am on April 14, via Ticketmaster and See Tickets, with members of the Off Menu members mailing list getting first dibs at 10am on April 13.
