This warning follows an incident on Sunday where thousands of Palestinians, including men, women, children, and the elderly, came under fire from Israeli forces as they tried to return to their homes in northern Gaza.
Reports and videos circulating online showed a significant number of people heading towards the north for the first time in large groups. Some individuals mentioned that they had heard that the Israeli military was permitting women and children to move back up, while others stated that their relatives had been allowed to cross over.
Tragically, a young girl was shot in the head by Israeli soldiers during the incident. Her mother recounted that they had attempted to cross into the north with the girl's father, but he was turned back by the soldiers, leaving the mother and her four children to make the journey alone. The girl is currently in intensive care as a result of the injuries sustained.
