Israel's foreign ministry is taking diplomatic action in response to the support shown for the Palestinian membership bid at the United Nations. Foreign Minister Israel Katz announced that ambassadors from various countries will be summoned on Sunday to express Israel's displeasure with their stance.

The countries being targeted in this diplomatic push are those that have voted in favor of Palestinian membership in the UN and have ambassadors stationed in Israel. This includes France, Ecuador, Japan, Malta, South Korea, Slovenia, China, and Russia. Notably, Algeria, Sierra Leone, Guyana, and Mozambique, which also supported the proposal, do not have embassies in Israel.
