Israel Defense Forces To Continue Military Operations In Gaza Strip

Ongoing conflict between Israel and Hamas, in Gaza City

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) are maintaining their military operations in the Gaza Strip, according to Lt. Gen. Herzi Halevi, the chief of staff. At a news conference on Sunday, Lt. Gen. Halevi emphasized that the IDF is far from halting its activities in the region.

He stated that the IDF's objective is to eliminate all active Hamas brigades across the Gaza Strip. Lt. Gen. Halevi highlighted that the military has specific plans in place and will take action as deemed necessary to achieve its goals.

Despite the withdrawal of ground forces from Khan Younis in southern Gaza, Lt. Gen. Halevi noted that Hamas' military capabilities have been significantly reduced to small terrorist cells. He reassured that the IDF remains present in the Gaza Strip, with numerous troops currently stationed in the area.

The defense minister of Israel echoed similar sentiments, indicating that the redeployed troops will regroup and prepare for upcoming missions, including potential operations in Rafah.

The IDF's ongoing efforts in Gaza aim to accomplish various objectives, such as securing the release of all hostages, facilitating the return of displaced residents to the northern region, and dismantling Hamas' presence throughout the enclave.

As tensions persist in the region, the IDF continues to assert its commitment to addressing security concerns and maintaining a strong military presence in the Gaza Strip.
