Iranian Strikes Towards Israel Subside, Hezbollah Fires Rockets

Rockets fired from Gaza head towards Israel, as seen from Southern Israel

Recent reports indicate that the wave of strikes launched from Iran towards Israel has subsided, according to two US officials. The attacks, which lasted approximately five hours, have seemingly come to a halt.

Early Sunday morning in Israel, the country's Home Front Command canceled its request for citizens to remain near shelters. This move suggests that the Israeli military believes the immediate threat of incoming attacks has passed.

Both the US and Israel closely monitored the barrage of drone and missile attacks that began on Saturday night and continued into early Sunday morning. The officials noted that the number of launches appeared to decrease during the early hours of Sunday.

US forces in the region were strategically positioned to provide defensive support to Israel prior to the attack. The US had intentions to intercept as many of the launches as possible. In a coordinated defensive effort, US forces successfully intercepted a number of drones that were intended for Israel. Washington remains vigilant for the potential of further activity.

Despite the decline in Iranian drone and missile launches, Iranian proxy Hezbollah in Lebanon fired a barrage of rockets at northern Israel early Sunday morning.
