Iran Launches Retaliatory Drone Strikes On Israeli Targets

Drone attack on Poltava region

Iranian state media has confirmed that retaliatory drone strikes have been launched against targets in Israel. According to Iran's Press TV, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has initiated extensive drone strikes against what they refer to as 'occupied territories,' in reference to Israel.

An official statement from the IRGC was broadcasted on Iranian state TV, stating, 'In response to the Zionist regime's crime in attacking the consular section of the Iranian embassy in Damascus, the IRGC’s air force conducted drone strikes and missile attacks on specific targets within the territories of the Zionist regime.'

The statement further mentioned that the drone strikes were carried out in retaliation for an attack on the consular section of the Iranian embassy in Damascus by the Israeli forces. The IRGC's air force reportedly utilized dozens of drones and missiles in the operation against the targets in Israel.

Iran's actions come amidst escalating tensions between the two nations, with recent incidents further straining their already contentious relationship. The Israeli government has not yet issued an official response to the drone strikes launched by Iran.

As the situation continues to develop, the international community is closely monitoring the events unfolding in the region. The implications of these retaliatory strikes on the already volatile Middle East remain to be seen, with concerns over potential escalation of conflict between Iran and Israel.
