Injury Alert: CB Denzel Ward in concussion protocol following game vs. Chiefs

Following the 33-32 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs in the preseason finale, head coach Kevin Stefanksi has stated that starting cornerback Denzel Ward is in the concussion protocol. This would be a huge blow to the Cleveland Browns as Ward missed four weeks the last time he suffered a concussion. If he is truly diagnosed with a concussion, his Week 1 status could be truly in doubt.

For Ward, if diagnosed, this would be his fourth concussion in the span of his NFL career. At some point for the 26-year-old, he has to ask himself if what he is putting his brain through is worth it. We hope this is just preventative, but the toll that Ward is racking up from football is reaching a concerning level.
