Ideal Home Show back in Glasgow this week: Everything you need to know

The Ideal Home Show Scotland is back in Glasgow this week and organisers are promising 'the biggest home and garden show' will be 'the best yet'.

Taking place over four days, it will feature four separate show areas packed with ideas and hundreds of brands - ideal for people looking to make house improvements or those moving to a new home.

The Home Show will also host celebrity guests, show homes and show gardens, as well as the Eat & Drink Festival, ensuring there's plenty of food for attendees to enjoy on their day out.

Here's everything you need to know ahead of the weekend's event:

When is it?

The show opens on Thursday, May 26, with the final day on Sunday, May 29.

Opening times are 10am - 5pm daily.

Where is it?

The Ideal Home Show Scotland 2022 will be hosted at the SEC Glasgow.

What can attendees expect?

Organisers say: "Attendees can indulge in retail therapy from over 400 brands from Designer Sofas Group, Little Miss Soy, and Robertson Fine Art, as well as elevate their homes from the inside out with big name brands like CR Smith and Hydropool.

"Visitors will also be able to get first-hand experience on the latest interior design trends and themes with inspiring living spaces in the Good Homes Roomsets. See the latest must-have accessories and furniture perfectly styled in a vibrant aspirational setting.

"Those with green fingers can visit the Show Gardens, partnered with Erskine Garden, to get inspiration on how to transform tired trellises and create welcoming outdoor spaces no matter the size."

Who are the celebrity guests?

Danni Menzies, John Amabile, Rosemary Shrager, and Martin Roberts will be taking to the main stage to share inside knowledge on how to transform your home and garden, and offer property advice, as well as discussing the latest technology in home renovation.

Can you get food and drink there?

The Eat & Drink Festival, sponsored by Thermomix, is set to provide a 'gastrological extravaganza' from live cooking demos, sampling, tasty tipples from the Champagne Bar or grab a bite from mouth-watering vendors Equi’s Ice Cream, Hush Hush Chefs, and Mhor Bread and many more.

What have the organisers said?

Giles Perry, Event Director, said: “The past two years have been very tumultuous for the events industry and so we are delighted to be back bringing a fun-filled day to Scotland once again.”

He continued: “We can’t wait to welcome our sponsors, the hundreds of exhibitors, and the thousands of visitors to what we believe is going to be the standout event 2022.”

Anything else you need to know?

The show will be officially opened by Erskine Garden alongside Pony Major Mark Wilkinson and Cruachan of the Royal Regiment of Scotland. Pipes, drums, and dancers of the Queen Victoria School Dunblane will also perform as part of the grand opening.
