I'm A Celebrity South Africa: Carol Vorderman's stomach-churning challenge as fans get a sneak peek

I’m A Celebrity fans are gearing up for the ITV series’ spin off on Monday, April 24. Once again hosted by presenting duo Ant & Dec, I’m A Celebrity… South Africa reunites viewers with legendary campmates from years gone by.

One of those campmates is TV presenter Carol Vorderman. A sneak peek at the first episode has teased that the 62-year-old is involved in one of the first trials of the series - accompanied by Jordan Banjo and Amir Khan.

In the trial, which is called ‘Deadly Drop’, the three celebrities will have to individually face a staggering 50m drop over the edge of an imposing South African mountain. Once they’ve plummeted, they must locate a numbered code, which they have to remember until they are hoisted back up to the top. Here, they need to use the code to open a padlock, which is keeping their star locked in a cage.

“Ok that is a long way down,” says Carol as she prepares to take on the drop. From the sidelines Jordan comments: “I feel scared for her.” After a few words of encouragement from her campmates, Carol shouts: “Hello Africa, I love you!” and walks off the edge.

It's a "long way down", says Carol (ITV)

Elsewhere in the series, Carol is set to have a bust-up with US model Janice Dickinson over their opposing views on the royal family. An insider told The Mirror: “It was a really explosive bust-up… Janice was effing and blinding" - read more about that here.

Joining Carol, Janice, Jordan and Amir is Coronation Street star Helen Flanagan. As well as Olympic athlete Fatima Whitbread, former royal butler Paul Burrell, ex-England cricketer Phil Tufnell and music legend Shaun Ryder.

ITV bosses have teased there will be many more celebrities taking part in the special series, but that viewers will have to watch to find out who they are and when they will enter camp.
