How to watch World Snooker Championship 2024 FOR FREE: TV channel and live stream

The World Snooker Championship takes centre stage over the next fortnight at The Crucible.

It’s set to be another drama-filled two weeks in the battle for snooker’s ultimate prize, which is currently held by Belgium’s Luca Brecel after his historic defeat of four-time champion Mark Selby in last year’s final.

Ronnie O’Sullivan will be heavily fancied to move clear of Stephen Hendry’s modern record with his eighth world title, though as ever there are significant dangers lurking throughout the field including the man he beat to claim a seventh crown two years ago in Judd Trump, who is enjoying a fantastic season with five ranking titles to his name so far.

Selby can never be overlooked and Mark Allen is desperate to win his maiden world title, while Mark Williams took the last of his three Crucible victories in 2018 and John Higgins is now without World Championship glory in some 13 years.

This year’s tournament will be missing 2010 champion Neil Robertson, the Australian having been stunned by Wales’ Jamie Jones in the final round of qualifying.
