Harry's brutal jibe at Prince William's hair as they prepare to reunite for Coronation

Prince Harry and his brother's reunion at their father's Coronation next week may be a tad awkward due to the strained relationship between the pair.

The brothers have not seen eye to eye in recent years and the relationship came to a head in January following the release of Prince Harry's book, Spare.

In the memoir, the Duke of Sussex took a swipe at his brother's hair loss and also alleged he was assaulted by William in a fight over his wife Meghan Markle. Prince Harry, who revealed he calls William 'Willy', brought up his brother's waning head of hair when recollecting his grandfather Prince Phillip's funeral in April 2021.

Harry writes how he noticed William's diminished resemblance to their mother, Princess Diana.

“I looked at Willy, really looked at him, maybe for the first time since we were boys," Harry writes in Spare, as per Page Six.

"I took it all in: his familiar scowl, which had always been his default in dealings with me, his alarming baldness, more advanced than my own; his famous resemblance to Mummy, which was fading with time."

In a televised interview with CBS's 60 minutes just days before the book was released, US broadcaster Anderson Cooper read the extract to Prince Harry and described it as "cutting".

“I don’t see it as cutting at all,” Harry said, who now lives in California with Meghan and their two children Archie, three, and Lilibet, one.

“My brother and I love each other. I love him deeply.”

Other bombshells included in the book include an alleged assault on Harry from his brother in a fight over Meghan, and claims that he killed 25 Taliban fighters while deployed in Afghanistan.

Royal insiders told The Mirror upon the book's release that Harry would likely "never be forgiven" for some of the damaging claims and details of private conversations.

A source said: "I don’t doubt he still loves his father and his brother but it’s impossible to see how he won’t come to bitterly regret his decision to do this.

“He knows he will be labelled a traitor, by crossing a red line so many times, his father, his brother, the Princess (of Wales) and Camilla, it’s utterly extraordinary.”

It was confirmed earlier this month that Harry will fly to the UK to attend his father's Coronation on May 6, although Meghan will stay in the US.
