Gwyneth Paltrow ‘eyeing up Cornwall home’ as she follows A-list stars snapping up property in the area

Gwyneth Paltrow has set her sights on finding a new home in Cornwall, according to new reports.

The actress, who is based in Los Angeles, is believed to be eyeing up a summer home in Polzeath, a small village located on Cornwall's north coast.

The area is known for its sandy beaches and surf while her ex-husband, Chris Martin, with whom she shares daughter Apple, 19, and son Moses,17, owns a home nearby.

A town resident told The Sun: “Gwyneth has been in the area recently and has been looking at a couple of potential places for a holiday home.

“She isn't a stranger and has spent a bit of time in Cornwall over the years. But it seems the quiet and sedate pace of life in Polzeath has caught her eye.

“Gwyneth has become the talk of the village and there are apparently two places she has her eye on.”

The local also insisted that many in the town are excited about the idea of Paltrow joining the community.

The Standard has contacted Gwyneth Paltrow's rep for comment.

The Oscar winner, 51, is one of many A-list celebrities who have been snapping up properties along the idyllic British coast.

Cate Blanchett, Jason Statham, Jamie Dornan and Stanley Tucci have all invested in properties in Mawgan Porth, an area now branded “Hollywood-on-Sea” by locals due to its influx of famous faces.

In August, it was revealed that Aquaman star Jason Momoa was the latest Hollywood star to purchase a pad in the picturesque Cornish village.

Elsewhere, Paltrow jokingly revealed she uses her Oscar as a doorstop in her garden in Vogue’s most recent 73 Questions series, where famous faces are interviewed in a setting of their choice.

The actress-turned-wellness-guru opened the doors to her home in Amagansett, Long Island, New York for the interview showing viewers around her garden and grounds of her home.

At one point, Paltrow, 51, walked past the Academy Award which is being used to prop up a door.

“What a beautiful Academy Award,” the interviewer said, to which she quipped: "My doorstop. It works perfectly.”

Paltrow won the Oscar for Best Actress for her role in Shakespeare in Love. She was up against Cate Blanchett, Fernanda Montenegro, Meryl Streep and Emily Watson.
