Governor Noem supports Texas border actions to protect sovereignty

Texas is protecting its state sovereignty by securing its land at the border.

South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem joined Texas Governor Greg Abbott at the border in Eagle Pass and expressed her pride in Texas' efforts to protect their state sovereignty. Governor Noem commended Texas for their actions, stating that they were defending their land and the United States from what she referred to as an invasion. She criticized President Biden for failing to enforce federal law and allowing the continued influx of illegal immigration, drugs, and human trafficking. Governor Noem emphasized that the negative consequences of this situation are felt daily in her home state of South Dakota.

Referring to the deadline set by President Biden to remove razor wire at the border, Governor Noem acknowledged that no such action had been taken. However, she reiterated her support for Governor Abbott and the people of Texas who are working to keep America safe. Reflecting on the Supreme Court decision regarding the razor wire, Governor Noem stated that Texas would put it back up if necessary, indicating that there may be further legal challenges. She also emphasized the importance of protecting state sovereignty, drawing parallels to the early days of the United States when Texas and the original 13 colonies asserted their right to defend themselves.

When asked about concerns of Texas defying the Supreme Court and federal government, Governor Noem highlighted the unprecedented nature of the situation. She stated that federalizing the Texas National Guard and instructing them not to protect the United States would be a direct threat to state sovereignty and an infringement on their right to defend their people.

The conversation then shifted to the issue of immigration and its impact on voters. Governor Noem emphasized the need for leadership and a president who respects federal and immigration laws and believes in law and order. She argued that President Biden's policies are fundamentally remaking America and warned of the potential consequences if the border is not defended and the broken system is not fixed.

Regarding the presence of razor wire at the border, Governor Noem mentioned that she did not bring any on this particular visit. However, she stated that she has ample supply ready to be deployed if needed and assured Governor Abbott of her willingness to provide it.

In conclusion, Governor Kristi Noem expressed her support for Texas' actions in protecting their borders, criticized President Biden for his immigration policies, and highlighted the need to defend America's sovereignty. She reiterated her commitment to ensuring the safety of her own state of South Dakota and emphasized the importance of fixing the broken system before irreparable harm is done.
