Gogglebox: Why Ellie and Izzi Warner are missing from tonight's show

Gogglebox returns tonight (March 25) where we will see fan favourites including Jenny and Lee, Amira and Iqra as well as newbies Joe and Rosin from Glasgow.

However people may notice that two Gogglebox members are missing from the show - Ellie and Izzi Warner - but some may not know why.

Since the latest episode aired last Friday, sadly Ellie's boyfriend Nat Eddleston has been in hospital after a car crash.

According to reports, Nat was hit by a car in Leeds and is now said to be on life support after doctors said he has suspected brain damage.

The crash occurred outside the Woodman pub in Halton on Friday (March 18) with the Mirror reporting that he was knocked down by a white car. Although he is currently said to be stable, sister Izzie is right by their side after reports emerged he suffered from a broken neck and a punctured lung following the accident.

As a result, the sisters are taking a break from the hit Channel 4 show this week.

A source told The Sun: "Channel 4 take duty of care really seriously. Obviously Ellie and Izzi are two of the most loved regulars on the show but it wouldn't be right for them to have to film a light-hearted show when Nat is in such a critical condition.

"Producers have made it clear there is no pressure to return to filming and they can take all the time they need."

Ellie and Izzi have both been among the fan favourites with having been on the show since 2015.

Taking to Twitter to show their support one said: "My thoughts and prayers are with you at this hard time while Nat is in hospital. Everyone wishes him a great recovery - we will miss not seeing you on TV but all you need to do is focus on Nat and yourself stay strong and stay safe sending love hugs to you and family xx"

Another added: "Just read about your boyfriend send our love."

A third tweeted: "Oh goodness. That poor lad. Poor Ellie must be beside herself. I wish them both well."
