Glasgow chef 'made for telly' as Julie Lin presents BBC Food Fest

A Glasgow chef has a new role as a presenter on BBC's Food Fest - and we may be seeing a lot more of her on on our screens, if locals have a say in anything.

Sharing the update, Julie Lin, owner of Glasgow's Gaga, took to Instagram to reveal the exiting news saying that she was "full of gratitude for how amazing this year has been already", calling her experience "the dream". And it seems people at home were keen to see more from the local TV star calling her a natural after tuning in to the the latest episode.

BBC's Food Fest, the Scotland edition, consists of five episodes, with experts in their field travelling to Peebles, Stranraer, Anstruther, Nairn, and of course, Glasgow.

Hosting alongside Edith Bowman and Colin Murray, people were keen to see Julie in more episodes with the chef being hailed the "perfect fit" for a presenter role.

Taking to Instagram one viewer said: "This just makes sense! Such a lovely personality and talent to be on the telly. Congrats."

Another commented: "Look at you, ya wee superstar. Glad to see your talents are getting the recognition they deserve! Big love, see you soon I hope."

"You did a fab job Julie!" wrote a third.

This isn't the first time Julie has been on the television after the chef featured on a recent episode of the Hairy Bikers.

It also comes as the chef closed her restaurant, Julie's Kopitiam, after five "wonderful" years in the city having been serving the locals in the southside and beyond, becoming a firm favourite for many including Paisley legend Paolo Nutini.

You can keep up with Julie, her food, and more TV appearances on her Instagram.
