Giants great Eli Manning surprises fans at MetLife Stadium on behalf of Quaker Oats

New York Giants great Eli Manning continues to be a staple in the Big Blue community in his post-playing career.

On Sunday, ahead of the Giants’ 10-7 win over the New England Patriots, Manning was at MetLife Stadium to surprise fans in partnership with Quaker’s Pregrain tour.

The two-time Super Bowl MVP was playing corn hole, taking pictures, and handing out some treats on behalf of Quaker.

“I think one, it’s a product that I’ve been eating every morning for the last 15 years probably. It’s something I believe in — Quaker Oats and their mission,” Manning told Giants Wire.

“You know, the circumstances of life should not be a barrier for good nutrition and so the fact that they want to promote healthy eating, help children get in good habits of eating and teaming up with GenYouth and donating food, money and resources to make sure no matter what’s going on in your life, there are options to eat healthy and get good nutrition.”

The former Giant has a particular interest in the charitable work with Quaker as the Pregrain tour will donate $250k to GENYOUth, a nationally recognized youth health and wellness nonprofit organization, to help advance food security among children.

“We’re here and we have the Quaker pregrain tour going around. It’s already hit a couple stadiums — we still have to hit Philly and Dallas and we will finish up at the Super Bowl,” Manning said. “Taste the NFL, Quaker is making a $250,000 donation to GenYouth, which is a health and wellness non-profit to just make sure children are eating healthy and so it’s great to be out here. You know, you have to pregrain, you have to get your oats in before the big game.”

Quaker’s Pregrain tour’s stop at MetLife was a part of promoting their 32 different recipes to represent each of the 32 NFL teams.

“I think it’s just about understanding this Quaker Pregrain tour, there’s a playbook which is a digital cookbook that has 32 recipes,” Manning said. “Kind of representing each NFL team and so you can go on there and find all sorts of recipes, whether it’s breakfast or dinner, whether it’s sweet or something savory, you have all different options. Quaker does a lot of great things providing fans with unique ways to include Quaker Oats in their meals.”

Manning’s surprise visit was an exciting bonus for fans on Sunday who stopped at Quaker’s stand in the parking lot. Manning continues to add to his charitable resume with his partnership with Quaker, something he is very passionate about.
