Gary Neville slams six Tottenham players in 21 minutes amid incredible Newcastle collapse

Gary Neville has not held back from his criticism of Tottenham Hotspur after they fell 5-0 down to Newcastle United before the half-hour mark.

Jacob Murphy scored his second and third goals of the season in the second and ninth minute between Joelinton's goal in the sixth. Alexander Isak continued his terrific goalscoring record with two goals in two minutes to make it 5-0 in the first 21 minutes.

Spurs came into the clash knowing they would face an uphill battle to secure a Champions League finish if they were to lose against Eddie Howe's men. Defeat on Tyneside leaves the north Londoners six points off Manchester United and Newcastle - with Man United having two games in hand.

Cristian Stellini's decision to change his side's system to a back four rather than a back five backfired completely. Three of the opening five goals came from defensive errors, something Gary Neville took to Twitter to criticised the Spurs defenders.

"Romero shocking for that goal," he said on Murphy's first. "Porro had to half cover the run." After Joelinton managed to bring the ball down and fire past Hugo Lloris, Neville then laid blame on Porro. "However, Porro for that one. That's not on Romero."

Neville went on to slam Lloris and Eric Dier after Murphy's long-range strike flew into the bottom corner. "Now Dier and Lloris! Only Perisic not made a mistake!"

However, Perisic's defence did not last long after Isak doubled his tally two minutes after his first. "Perisic now getting involved! Where was he drifting!"
