Mike Vrabel carved himself a great career with the Ohio State Buckeyes then the NFL, and parlayed that into a very successful coaching career.
That path started in Columbus, as he spent the 2011 season as the linebackers coach and then 2012-13 as the defensive line coach for his alma mater. The NFL called quickly, as Vrabel was named the Houston Texans linebackers coach during 2014-16 and then elevated to defensive coordinator in 2017.
It didn’t take long for Vrabel to get to the top of the NFL coaching chain, as the Tennessee Titans hired him in 2018 where he was named NFL Coach of the Year in 2021. Unfortunately he as dismissed earlier this year following a 6-11 record.
Many wondered what the next step for Vrabel was and now we know, as news broke on Friday afternoon that he is taking a consulting job with the Cleveland Browns.

It would not surprise me at all for Vrabel’s tenure with the Browns to be short, as he’ll surely be a wanted man come next offseason.
