• An analysis piece said that “under the new... Aukus alliance, Australia will receive nuclear weapons technology from the UK”. That should have said nuclear propulsion technology (UK’s ever more expensive nuclear submarines will torpedo spending plans for years to come, 31 March, p51).
• We quoted the American writer Rod Dreher saying the Christchurch mosque gunman who killed 51 people in 2019 had “legitimate, realistic concerns” about “declining numbers of ethnic Europeans”, but did not include that Dreher also referred to the gunman’s way of responding as “despicable” and “demonic” (No 10 urged to stop Braverman speaking on ‘far-right’ platform, 14 April, p6).
• It is the Medical Practitioners Tribunal Service that conducts disciplinary hearings in relation to doctors and not the General Medical Council, as we said when referring to Dr Sarah Benn (Jail for holding a placard?, 14 April, p47).
• In this column last week, we referred to Head North, a book by Andy Burnham and Steve Rotheram. In doing so we misspelled the latter’s surname as “Rotherham”.
• Las Vegas is not home to an NBA (National Basketball Association) franchise, as stated in an article (From showgirls and mobsters to an explosive end for this icon of Vegas, 14 April, p28).
• An article misnamed the Indian dessert gulab jamun as “galub jamun” (A nagging doubt plagues world leaders wooing India: whose side is Modi really on?, 14 April, p46).
