Flight attendant says you should always leave a shoe in your hotel safe

Flight attendants pick up many tips while frequently travelling across the globe, and one woman has now shared a trick she recommends people do when staying in a hotels.

Esther, who currently works for Dutch airline KLM, has stayed in hundreds of hotels around the world. On TikTok, she shared her number one tip and it involves one of your shoes.

Safes are there to keep valuable items protected, but the flight attendant says she always leaves one of her high heels in the safe when she checks in.

She said: "Worried about forgetting something from your locker? Put your heel or shoe in it and you won't forget it!"

The flight attendant always puts a heel in the safe because she would never leave the room without them as she needs them for work, but when carrying more than one pair of shoes, travellers can place whatever item they think they wouldn't leave without in the safe, such as their jacket or coat, the Express reports.

Esther also recommends using a hotel shower cap as a makeshift shoe cover if you're not carrying any plastic bags with you. This can be used to protect the clothes in your suitcase from any dirty shoes you may need to pack.
