The devastating crash occurred at 6:15 a.m. amidst blooming almond trees, leaving the van severely mangled near the town of Madera, approximately 25 miles outside Fresno. California Highway Patrol Officer Javier Ruvalcaba provided details of the harrowing incident.
Despite the severity of the collision, one farmworker seated in the rear of the van miraculously survived and was promptly transported to a nearby hospital. Fortunately, medical professionals anticipate a full recovery for the survivor. Regrettably, only two occupants of the van were wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash, a factor that could have potentially altered the outcome.
