Everything we know about Folarin Balogun's Arsenal future amid Chelsea and RB Leipzig interest

Arsenal may have made moves in the summer transfer window in terms of new signings, but there remains plenty of work to be done on outgoings.

The Gunners have already secured the services of Kai Havertz for a deal worth £65million ($83.2m) from Chelsea. Mikel Arteta is also on course to add Declan Rice and Jurrien Timber to his squad, transfers that will take the spending in north London over £200m ($256.3m).

Beyond the triple arrival, Arsenal face the pressing issue of Folarin Balogun's future. The 22-year-old is a player in high-demand after his eye-catching season in France with Stade Reims, where he scored 22 goals in all competitions.

The Hale Enders' decision to switch his international allegiance to the USMNT in May has only fuelled speculation regarding an exit this summer. Since his loan spell in Ligue 1 concluded, interest in Balogun has accelerated with Marseille and AC Milan two teams who have monitored his services for some time.

Now, football.london understands that Bundesliga side RB Leipzig hold an interest in the striker. Marco Rose's side are in the market for a replacement for Christopher Nkunku after his winter move to Chelsea was completed earlier this summer.

Lens forward Lois Openda had been their primary target, but a fourth bid in the region of €43.5m (£37.2m/$47.6m) was recently turned down, forcing Leipzig to turn their attention elsewhere.

football.london understands there is also interest from Italy and England. In the past, AC Milan, Napoli and Inter Milan have been credited with interest from Serie A, with Crystal Palace and West Ham said to be keen.

However, a surprise link to London rivals Chelsea emerged in the last week with reports stating the Blues had held talks with the player's agent.

Additionally, football.london understands that the highly-rated forward is available for the right fee. It's said a fresh price tag worth £50m ($64m) has been demanded by Arsenal. £15m ($19.2m) more than the £35m ($44.8m) quoted in the second half of last season.
