Eurovision host Hannah Waddingham thanks 'hidden' stars of the show as fans make plea

Hannah Waddingham has taken time to praise the 'unsung' heroes of this year's EUrovision Song Contest, with their' efforts missed by millions of viewers who tuned into watch the event at home.

KNow while of course there has been a lot of talk about 2023 winner Loreen and hard to forget runner up, Kaarija from Finland, there is one other person who has been the name on everyone's lips this week and that is none other than Ted Lasso star Hannah, who was heralded an instant Eurovision icon, within minutes of appearing on screen for the first final.

Impressed by her grasp of French and bowled over by her enthusiasm for things Eurovision, many fans just could not get enough of Hannah. Weeks after she went down a storm as presenter of this year's Olivier Awards, Hannah proved to be the ideal Eurovision host, playing a key role in the live semis preview shows and of course, Saturday's grand finale.

Viewers loved her so much that they are demanding Hannah, who also also starred in Game of Thrones, get her own primetime show on the BBC. And, while she's not being drawn on any of that talk, Hannah has spoken out to shine a spotlight of the hard working individuals, who were pivotal to the success of this year's Contest in Liverpool.

A video posted by the BBC Eurovision Twitter account on Monday showed just how the stage crew at the M&S Bank Arena managed to turn around the set for each act within seconds and, sharing it on her own timeline, Hannah wrote: "The best crew I’ve ever witnessed. Assembled from the very best all over TV and theatre. Well done,thank you and my deepest respect to you all," adding 'You're the nuts."

One fan who'd seen the crew in action themselves, replied: "Watching how hard they worked to turn the stage around between acts at one of the dress rehearsals blew my mind. a truly incredible bunch of people," with another tweeting: "I was lucky enough to be at a daytime show. It was fascinating watching the stage and camera crew, the lighting and pyros, all of it was brilliant, an amazing production."
