Emmerdale's Gabby left heartbroken as Nicky exposed on wedding day

Gabby Thomas will be left distraught next week on Emmerdale as Nicky is finally exposed.

Nicky has been pretending he is interested in Gabby as part of an elaborate plot to fleece Kim Tate for her money, which him and dad Caleb think is rightfully theirs as Caleb is Frank Tate's son. However, Nicky has been living a double life and is actually in love with someone else, a man called Ally, who has been hovering around the village.

On the wedding day, the families are busy preparing for the big day to go ahead whilst elsewhere Caleb introduces Kim to Adrian. The pair seem very friendly, whilst elsewhere Gabby gets ready for her wedding.

Nicky has secretly been working with his dad Caleb (ITV)

In her dress, she chats with her husband to be Nicky and tells him that she would love for him to officially adopt Thomas. Nicky finds it all too much to cope with and blurts out to her that he is gay, and that he can't go through with the nuptials.

She is horrified and absolutely distraught - whilst word spreads that the wedding has been called off. Caleb panics on hearing the news and lands a punch at his son Nicky. He is stunned by his dad's reaction.

But what does this mean for their plan - and their relationship? Are Caleb and Nicky still working together or will Caleb go it alone?

She is heartbroken to learn of his deceit (ITV)

Back in March, actor Lewis Cope - who plays Nicky - teased that his character had some huge plans for Gabby, which was later revealed to be that he is just using her to get an in at Home Farm to help his dad out.

He said: "Yeah, he seems to have a huge interest in Gabby. He's got his reasons why he wants to be with her which will all come out eventually," and on whether his character was hiding something, he added: "I think Nicky has got a lot going on, and maybe with it being a soap there is more. The fan theories have been great. It has been nice to see how other people view the situation and the character, and just the madness of what people come up with has been fun."
