EastEnders spoilers for next week: Serial killer 'returns' and creepy Theo 'rumbled'

EastEnders will air big scenes next week, from two returns to a big decision, as well as a possible discovery.

Cindy Beale's recent return causes more drama in Walford, while those living there have yet to find out she's still alive, or that she's Rose Knight.

There's the return of soap legend Patrick Trueman too, but it's clear he is hiding something ahead of the return of his wife Yolande.

Another return of sorts sees a serial killer make contact, leaving one Walford resident very concerned.

Finally, mystery Theo continues to spark panic leading to Martin Fowler taking action. Here's the biggest moments happening on the BBC soap next week...

Serial killer 'returns'

There's panic for Chelsea Fox next week when her serial killer husband Gray Atkins makes contact from prison.

Chelsea is distracted as she receives a letter from Gray as Whitney prepares to throw a moving in party.

Gray was finally arrested last year after his two-year reign of terror, during which he murdered wife Chantelle, Tina Carter - who threatened to reveal the truth about Chantelle - and Kush Kazemi.

He attempted to strangle girlfriend Chelsea in March 2022 after discovering she was secretly recording his murder confession, but she managed to get away as the police arrived. What does Gray's letter to Chantelle say?

Patrick back in Walford

Patrick Trueman is back (BBC/Jack Barnes/Kieron McCarron)

Patrick Trueman is back in Walford next week... but it looks like he's hiding something from his loved ones.

The EastEnders legend, played by Rudolph Walker, left Albert Square to pursue his one true love Yolande, who he was married to back in 2004.

Yet when he arrives back at home, he's shocked to discover what's been going on with his family - including Denise's marriage hanging by a thread.

Stunned that no one has told him what's been happening, he's equally evasive when asked about his time with Yolande.

Cindy Beale latest

Cindy will soon return to Walford (BBC)

Elaine Peacock makes a decision next week, as the Cindy Beale twist rumbles on.

Elaine and the Knights are yet to find out the true identity of missing Rose Knight - the wife of George and mother of Anna and Gina.

Viewers now know she is Cindy, a former character who was married to Ian Beale and seemingly died in the 90s offscreen.

Cindy will soon return to Walford, but in the meantime Elaine is struggling to get through to Anna and Gina, who now know their mother wasn't who they thought.

With more still to come out, Elaine decides to push back her wedding to George while the family comes to terms with recent discoveries.

Creepy Theo rumbled?

Next week, Martin becomes even more suspicious of teacher Theo (BBC/Jack Barnes/Kieron McCarron)

Next week, Martin becomes even more suspicious of teacher Theo after he offers to tutor Lily for free while she’s off school.

Theo, who was introduced as Freddie's old school teacher recently, has been hanging around the family and offering them help - from getting Freddie an ADHD assessment referral, to buying Lily some expensive trainers.

As Martin and Stacey get anxious ahead of their daughter Lily’s family meeting with social workers, the pregnant youngster is distraught when she is signed off school until after she’s given birth due to high blood pressure.

Feeling increasingly side-lined and irritated by her parents’ involvement and attitudes, Lily worries even more that she’ll miss out on school work and be bored at home.

However, later that day Stacey conspires to get Theo to meet them who offers to tutor Lily for free while she’s off school.

While Stacey is thrilled, Martin can’t wrap his head around why he would go out of his way to tutor someone he barely knows and not get paid.

Suspicious, Martin begins digging for information about the generous teacher from Freddie, who previously had a run-in with Theo. Soon, Martin heads to Theo’s old school and learns the reasons he left.

EastEnders airs Mondays to Thursdays at 7:30pm on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
