EastEnders legends reunite for surprising selfie - sending fans into a frenzy

Three of EastEnders' best known stars reunited today (Oct 10) - sending fans wild.

Adam Woodyatt, John Altman and Todd Carty all popped up in a pic on Instagram, which was taken in Ireland.

Fans couldn't get over the impromptu reunion, as the stars who played Ian Beale, Nick Cotton and Mark Fowler smiled for the camera.

Adam, sporting a beard, captioned the post: "Small world!! Great to catch up with these two Leg Ends in Dublin @therealjohnaltman and Todd are in The Mousetrap at @gaiety_theatre and I’m at @bordgaisenergytheatre with @myfairladyuk [sic]."

The post went down a storm with followers, with many saying how happy they were to see the actors reunited.

One fan said: "That's so funny. Three Eastenders legends in Dublin in the same week!"

Another said: "Miss seeing you three on screen together."

While Nitin Ganatra, who played Masood Ahmed in the soap, wrote: "Classics!!!" followed by a heart emoji.

Since leaving EastEnders in 2021, Adam has enjoyed time treading the boards.

After gracing the stage for Looking Good Dead last year, the actor is now touring the UK and Ireland with My Fair Lady.

Based on George Bernard Shaw's 1913 play Pygmalion, the popular musical previously enjoyed a West End run later this year.

Earlier this year, Adam admitted he was having a "fantastic time" away from the BBC One soap, saying: "I'm having the time of my life."

And as for whether he'll return to EastEnders, he shared: "I left because of the way the storyline was going because Ian needed to go. Not me going, 'I wanna leave', or them saying, 'You're going'. That was the storyline.

Fans hope more legends from the soap will reunite for Dot's funeral (BBC)

"They've got to come up with a storyline; they've got to ask me to go back. The timing has got to be right for me to go back, because I don't know what else I'm going to be doing."

However, fans may not have to wait too much longer to see the return of Ian Beale.

EastEnders is filming Dot Branning's funeral episode - due to air this winter- which is said to feature a whole host of Walford legends.

Last month, it was confirmed the Albert Square gang would be getting together to say their final goodbyes to the iconic character, following the death of June Brown in April.

Details about the episode are largely under wraps, but according to reports, a flurry of famous faces could be making a comeback.

A source told The Sun : "There will be quite a few old faces returning for the episode.

"Without giving anything away the script is what she [June] would have wanted.

"It was an incredibly hard couple of days on set as she was so loved."

The Mirror has contacted the BBC for comment.
