EastEnders' dying Lola pictured at beach with Jay in heartbreaking final scenes

EastEnders Lola will be taken to the beach by her husband Jay in some of her heartbreaking final scenes.

The much loved hairdresser has recently learnt she has just months to live after being diagnosed with a brain tumour.

She has been spending her time with her loved ones since finding out the devastating news.

In scenes set to air in the coming weeks, Lola, who is played by Danielle Harold, enjoys a trip to the seaside with Jay, played by Jamie Borthwick.

The characters will set on making final memories together.

Both actors were seen filming the emotional scenes on Tuesday as Lola, who is in a wheelchair, is taken to the shore by Jay.

Lola was wrapped up in a white padded coat, purple jogging bottoms and white trainers.

She also sat with blankets over her knee.

Actress Danielle has previously opened up about how much it meant to her to be "trusted" with such a big storyline.

"It means so much to be trusted with a storyline like this – one that’s close to many people’s hearts. Sadly many of our viewers will be able to relate to Lola’s story and it’s been heart-breaking to speak to the families affected by brain tumours and hear their stories.

"They’ve been so amazing in sharing their experiences with me, and I’m so lucky to have them," she said of taking on the storyline.

Chris Clenshaw, Executive Producer added: "It was vital for us to work alongside Macmillan and Brain Tumour Research to take on, and accurately present, such a profound and emotional storyline for Lola, one that many viewers may relate to.

"Danielle [Harold] has thoughtfully relayed the realities of being diagnosed with a brain tumour with grace and understanding. We hope that this storyline resonates with the audience and that we represent it as sensitively, and accurately as possible."

Last month fans were saddened after it has been confirmed Lola will have passed away by Christmas when the flashforward scene showed her picture in a frame on the side.

Fans were heartbroken by the scenes, with one writing: "Lola's news. The end has begun # EastEnders ".

A second added: "Lola being told she has only 6 months to live," whilst a third shared: "I know it's only a soap but it breaks my heart #EastEnders."
