Djordje Petrovic has already confirmed transfer stance amid Manchester United interest

Manchester United target Djordje Petrovic has already confirmed he is interested in remaining in the MLS at New England Revolution despite interest from the Reds.

The 23-year-old Serbian moved to America from Cukaricki in April 2022 but has since become a regular for the MLS Eastern Conference franchise. Currently, the shot stopper has made 17 appearances for the Revolution keeping six clean sheets and conceding just 21 goals.

His impressive form has earned him admiring glances from Europe with United looking at him as a potential signing. MEN Sport understands Petrovic is a player of interest for the Reds but an official offer has not been submitted.

Petrovic, who is rumoured to be on Liverpool's radar, was asked for his thoughts on United and the Merseyside club's interest in him back in March. However, he told GOAL he wished to remain in the MLS.

"When two great teams like that are interested in you, that's great," he explained. "But I'm not paying too much attention to it because I'm happy here with the New England Revolution and I'm happy with my improvement and the way I work with the team from week to week.

"When the right time comes [to think about a transfer], then we'll see." United's goalkeeper search is one of Erik ten Hag's top priorities this summer.

The Manchester Evening News understands Ten Hag wants to sign a new No.1 amid uncertainty surrounding David de Gea's future at the club. The Spaniard's contract at Old Trafford is due to expire in a week's time and while United are in conversations with him, it is not certain he will sign a new deal.

Inter Milan's Andre Onana and Porto's Diogo Costa have both been linked with moves to Old Trafford to fill De Gea's place.
