Desperate search for missing Hamilton man who vanished two weeks ago

Police are continuing to search for a missing man who vanished in South Lanarkshire two weeks ago.

James Reid, also known as Jamie, has been missing since 11pm on Saturday, June 24. The last sighting of the 44-year-old was in the Burnbank area of Hamilton.

Police say the 44-year-old has "never been missing before" and his disappearance is "out of character".

Extensive enquiries have been carried out to locate Jamie, however, he has yet to be traced. Officers are continuing to speak to Jamie's family and friends for additional information on where he may have gone.

Officers are also checking CCTV footage from in and around the area.

It was previously claimed he was found unconscious on Friday, June 30 and taken to hospital, where he signed himself out the following day at 11pm.

Jamie's step daughter, Cody Falconer, took to social media to publicly appeal for help.

James 'Jamie' Reid is described as being 5 feet 9 inches tall and has grey hair and blue eyes (Police Scotland)

She said: "All we want to know is that he’s fine. He has now been gone for nine days. Please, please just contact someone Jamie and say you're okay.

"We’re all willing to help you. Please phone home. Jamie Reid last seen in the area leaving the hospital on the 24th of June."

Jamie is described as 5ft 9in, has short grey hair and blue eyes.

Sergeant Jason Henry said: "Jamie has never been missing before and it's very out of character for him to not be in touch with family and friends.

"His family is understandably worried. Given that no-one has seen or heard from him since Saturday 24 June, our concern is growing. I would appeal to anyone who may have seen Jamie or who has any information on his whereabouts to contact us. Any small piece of information could aid us in locating Jamie."

Anyone with information is asked to call Police Scotland via 101 quoting incident 2469 of the 30 June, 2023.
