Darren Till has UFC title aspirations at middleweight, sets timetable for potential return to promotion

Make no mistake about it, Darren Till still is in pursuit of UFC gold.

Till (18-5-1 MMA, 6-5-1 UFC) requested his release from the UFC in February after he suffered from multiple lingering knee injuries that impacted his recent results.

Till parted ways with the UFC after he went 1-5 in his past six fights. But the former welterweight title challenger is eager to reclaim contention status in the UFC and capture middleweight gold down the road.

“(I want the title), 100 percent,” Till said in an interview with Neue Online Casinos. “My aspirations haven’t changed in that sense. Obviously when money comes and money goes, ideas and mindsets change. But I’ve still got that mindset. I’m only 30. Most of the UFC champions are 34 or 35, and I’ve already been at the top at 30, so I know I can do it.

“I just need to be directed in the right way and need make sure my body is fit and healthy – and my mind. Regardless of how much money I make outside the UFC now or what I do, that is definitely what I want to do is ultimately in two to three years, be back in the UFC and having them big fights inside the UFC again.”

Till teased a big announcement to come soon and said he’s already received multiple offers from the likes of PFL, as well as a lucrative one from a Polish organization that he didn’t name.

“There’s a Polish organization who offered me a lot of money to do, I think it was first round muay Thai, second round MMA, third round boxing and fourth round karate – some stuff like that. They offered a lot of money to do it, so I was in talks, and I actually would be stupid to turn it down, so we’ll see what they come back with. But it was a crazy concept what they wanted to do.”
