Dancing on Ice: Who will join the past winners in the 2022 final?

Dancing on Ice will crown yet another winner this weekend.

As the ITV skating show reaches the end of series 14, we will see former Strictly Come Dancing pro Brendan Cole, Pussycat Doll Kimberly Wyatt and dancer Regan Gascoigne all hoping to have the skills to be crowned the champion. But, only one can take the crown.

Judges Oti Mabuse, Jayne Torvill, Christopher Dean and Ashley Banjo will give their final ratings as the celebrities perform for a final time. There have been 13 winners beforehand and fans are keen to find out who will join the list of victorious competitors.

We take a look back at who else has held the crown. Here are all of the previous winners of the show.

Series 1 - Gaynor Faye

In 2006, actor Gaynor Faye became the first ever celebrity skater to win a series, alongside pro partner Daniel Whiston. The star, known for her roles in Coronation Street and Emmerdale, fought off competition from stars including John Barrowman, who later went on to join the ice panel as a judge.

Series 2 - Kyran Bracken

Rugby player Kyran Bracken was a surprise hit on the ice, triumphing over experienced showbiz performers including Duncan James, Lisa Scott-Lee and Stephen Gately.

Series 3 - Suzanne Shaw

Ex Hear'Say singer Suzanne Shaw created some magical moments on ice and beat another all-time competition favourite, Chris Fountain.

Series 4 - Ray Quinn

Liverpool's Ray Quinn was so good at dancing that for many weeks viewers could barely tell the difference between him and the professionals. However, also worthy of a mention from the 2009 series is Todd Carty who created the show's most iconic moment ever when he lost control of his skates and accidentally zoomed off the rink mid-performance.

Series 5 - Hayley Tamaddon

Pro skater Daniel Whiston got another win under his belt with a soap star in 2010, and the achievement was extra special as it was with lifelong friend Hayley Tamaddon. The pair are particularly remembered for their Jai Ho routine and triumphed over finalists Gary Lucy and Kieron Richardson.

Series 6 - Sam Attwater

Former EastEnders star Sam Attwater didn't just land himself the winner title - he also bagged himself a love interest. The actor and his skating partner Brianne Delcourt declared themselves an item early on in the series, but hastily called things off when they were accused of creating a showmance to win votes.

Series 7 - Matthew Wolfenden

It was battle of the soap stars in the 2012 final when Emmerdale's Matthew Wolfenden went up against Hollyoaks actor Jorgie Porter. Wolfenden took the crown, but it was Porter who was invited back for the All Stars series a couple of years later.

Series 8 - Beth Tweddle

Marking the first year that a contestant with significant performing experience won the show, rather than a celebrity, Olympic gymnast Beth Tweddle put her lifetime of skilled routines to use on the ice. The judges made a big thing of her needing to brush up on her dance skills to match her acrobatic ability throughout the series, but it was really no surprise that she won.

Series 9 - All Stars - Ray Quinn

This series was different to all the others as it featured memorable skaters from throughout the previous eight series, some of them winners, but also worthy runners-up and show icons such as Todd Carty. Crowned the champion of champions, Ray Quinn took the title for a second time.

Series 10 - Jake Quickenden

Serial reality TV contestant Jake Quickenden finally got a win under his belt, having been an also-ran in The X Factor and I'm A Celebrity. He partnered with new skater Vanessa Bauer who has since proved herself to be one of the show's best pros.

Series 11 - James Jordan

When ex-Strictly dancer James Jordan signed up to the competition, many viewers questioned whether it was fair to have a pro performer taking part. But there was no denying he was the best skater of the series and he beat Love Island's Wes Nelson to win the trophy.

Series 12 - Joe Swash

The surprise winner of the 2020 series was ex-EastEnder Joe Swash, despite having gone up against Perri Kiely in the final. Maybe viewers felt the Diversity dancer had too much of an advantage with his years of performing alongside the show's judge Ashley Banjo, but either way, Swash even survived a change in pro partner to be victorious.

Series 13 - Sonny Jay

This year was a disaster as covid struck the set. After losing five celebrities and burning through all of its reserves, the final was eventually brought forward by a week, with viewers feeling it was a case of choosing from whoever was left standing - which turned out to be Capital FM's Sonny Jay.
