Dad of UK's biggest family shares 'winning' recipe for meal costing 60p per head

A dad of 22 has shared his tips for feeding families on a budget - with a recipe costing as little as 60p per head.

Noel and Sue Radford are believed the be the UK's biggest family sharing 22 children.

But with so many mouths to feed, the couple have to be super savvy when it comes to batch cooking - especially now that food and energy bills are soaring.

Noel, from Morecambe, Lancashire, has shared their go-to fail safe recipe which keeps both tummies and wallets happy.

The busy father regularly shares family updates on TikTok, with his latest video sharing a tutorial for a potato bake which he says works out at between 50-60p a portion.

Noel and Sue Radford have been together for 30 years and have 22 children (@theradfordfamily/Instagram)

He said: "Right just chuck the potatoes in the water, so basically chop the potatoes, cut up the broccoli and boil them together. Next, cut the onion and add it to the baking dish."

Next, Noel chopped some garlic and crushed it with a knife before adding it to the baking dish with the cream.

When the potatoes and broccoli are cooked, you should strain them before adding them to the dish with the other ingredients. Then you should add stock over the top.

If you want to add some protein to your dish, you should add some ham or chicken to the baking dish before putting it in the oven for 30 minutes at 200 degrees.

Noel was joined in the kitchen with daughter Chloe who pulled the cooked dish from the oven, saying: "Mmmm, look at that beauty."

Her dad added: "It smells nice. There you go, Chloe, that's what you can do for 60p a portion. Be careful, it's hot."
