Craig Brown funeral details announced with Scotland YouTube live stream included

The funeral for legendary former Scotland manager Craig Brown will be broadcast live, it has been announced.

Brown died at the age of 82 in late June following a long, brave battle with illness.

His son John announced the details of his father's funeral on social media platform Twitter and that it would also be shown live on the Scottish National team's Youtube channel.

It will take place on Tuesday, July 25 at Ayr Racecourse at 1pm.

Brown was the last Scotland manager to reach a World Cup when he qualified for France 1998.

He also led the team to Euro 1996 and narrowly missed out on beating England over two legs in a play-off for Euro 2000. Brown managed to defeat the Auld Enemy on their own patch thanks to a memorable Don Hutcheson goal but couldn't find the second needed to overturn a 2-0 first-leg defeat.

He resigned the national team position in 2001 before spells at Preston, Motherwell and Aberdeen, where he subsequently enjoyed a long spell as a director.

You can watch the stream on Tuesday July 25 here.
