Councilwoman Palladino Calls For Strengthening Sanctuary City Law

Vickie Paladino Member of New York City Council

New York City Councilwoman Vicki Palladino expressed strong opposition to maintaining the current sanctuary city law during a recent interview. Palladino criticized her Democratic colleagues who support the law, accusing them of being radical and anti-Semitic. She specifically targeted two members of the City Council's progressive caucus, Alexa Alaves and Shahana Hanif, who advocate for strengthening the sanctuary policies to protect all New Yorkers.

Palladino argued that the sanctuary city law is detrimental to the city, claiming that it allows for strategic misery and aims to bring about the demise of New York City. She emphasized the need to crack down on the radical left progressives in the City Council and called for the reinstatement of ICE (Immigration and Customs Enforcement) to address the escalating issues.

Furthermore, Palladino suggested declaring an executive state of emergency to empower the mayor to involve the police and other city agencies in addressing the challenges posed by the sanctuary city law. She also criticized Governor Hochul for not taking action against Manhattan District Attorney Bragg, whom she believes should be removed from office.

Despite facing opposition from her colleagues and the progressive caucus, Palladino remained steadfast in her beliefs and reiterated the urgency of the situation. She emphasized the need for immediate action to prevent the situation from worsening and underscored the importance of unity among all political backgrounds in addressing the challenges faced by New York City.
