Could Ohio State lose Bill O’Brien before he even coaches one game?

Ohio State football made a home run hire this offseason when it named Bill O’Brien as its new offensive coordinator.

As news hit that former Buckeye defensive coordinator and Boston College head coach, Jeff Hafley, was leaving to become the defensive coordinator for the Green Bay Packers, the wheels started moving.

There is now potential that O’Brien could return home to Boston and become the new BC head coach according to a report by The Athletic’s Bruce Feldman. He was listed as one of the potential candidates to take over the program, which would clearly be a big hit for the Ohio State offense if that come to fruition.

Feldman’s rationale is all about the fact that O’Brien “flirted with the BC job the last time it opened.” He went on to say that the “timing could be tough as he just accepted the Ohio State OC job, but this one could be intriguing for him on some levels.

Hopefully it’s just a rumor, as O’Brien has gotten rave reviews during his short tenure so far in Columbus.
