Having received an email from Max’s solicitor, a worried David Platt tells mum Gail and his uncle Stephen Reid that they’re escalating his son's charge to Encouragement of Terrorism next week on Coronation Street. Max’s solicitor, Harriet, calls at number 8 nd tells David that in her view, Max was groomed by extremist Griff and was very much a victim.
However, later in the week David confides in Maria Windass that Max is refusing to take his calls. In the café, Alya Nazir assures David that he’s not to blame for Max’s actions. Alone at home, David knocks back whisky in a bid to blot out his worries. But there's another blow when David tells Maria that Max pleaded guilty and is now awaiting sentencing.
Elsewhere, Nick Tilsley confesses to Leanne Battersby that Damon is Harvey’s brother and he’s using the bistro for drug deliveries. And troubled child Hope confides in Sam how she intends to have her revenge for Cilla the chinchilla's murder at the paws of Peanut the dog and needs his help.

In the factory, Peanut's owner Beth Sutherland tells Hope's mum Fiz she’s sorry about Cilla, but at the end of the day, she was only a posh rat. Fiz is incensed and Carla Connor has to step in before a fight breaks out.
On Hope’s instructions, Sam reluctantly cons Maria into handing over Vin-Diesel the stuffed weasel from the barber shop. Ordering Sam to go, Hope carefully places Vin Diesel’s mouth around the skin of her arm. Hope then approaches Peanut and lets out a scream.
Later, Tyrone Dobbs catches Hope sneaking out of their backyard carrying David’s stuffed weasel, and it appears her game is up. Meanwhile, Beth confronts Hope and she returns home in tears saying Beth slapped her in the face. Fiz and Tyrone confront Beth over Hope’s allegation, and Beth denies she did anything of the sort.
Also on the cobbles, Daniel Osbourne tells a disappointed Daisy Midgeley that he can’t make the wedding fair. Daisy confides in Glenda Shuttleworth that her admirer Justin is proving to be a pest and she advises Daisy to tell Daniel.
Glenda tells Daisy's mum Christina and Jenny Connor that Daisy is being bombarded with messages from Justin and later, at the wedding fair, Daisy posts a selfie, unaware that there’s a poster in the background.
While Daisy tries on a wedding dress, she's in for a massive shock when the owner of the stall says her fiancé has arrived. Justin reveals how he saw her selfie online, and Daisy’s completely freaked out to realise that he thinks they’re engaged and threatens to call the police.
