Corrie fans swearing at their TV and predicting murder as Aaron makes horrifying claim after raping Amy

Soap watchers were reeling from upsetting scenes in Friday night's epsidoe of Coronation Street as Amy Barlow was raped by her best friend's boyfriend Aaron Sandford. The flatmates were seen bonding over drinking games after they both fell out with Aaron's girlfriend Summer Spellman.

The pair ended up kissing in Amy's bedroom as she went to find more alcohol, and when she complained of feeling sick and passed out asleep Aaron preyed on her. In Monday night's episode (March 7) Amy woke up to find herself alone in the flat and found a note saying 'drink me' with a glass of water left by creepy Aaron, played by James Craven.

Hungover and with no memory of how she got into bed, Amy was distraught to see her underwear on the floor along with the discarded drink bottles. Later, having made up with Summer, Aaron caught up with Amy in the street and begged her to forget about their 'drunken sex.'

When Amy, played by Elle Mulvaney, asserted that she was far too drunk to consent, Aaron tried to convince her that she wanted sex as much as he did and that they were equally responsible for what happened. But Amy knew he was lying and dismissed his claim that it was just a "drunken mistake."

"I didn't want it," she told him in powerful scenes. "I can barely remember the night but from what I do remember I was leathered, too drunk to stand up. I can't remember anything after kissing. So if I can't remembr it how can I have possibly been in any state to consent?"

Corrie viewers were appalled as Aaron lied while denying rape, saying: "You were kissing me and pulling me on top of you and taking my clothes off. You wanted it. You enjoyed it." Amy responded: "What did I say that made you think I enjoyed it?"

And a panicking Aaron spluttered: "Don't start making me out as some sort of ..." The mechanic then stormed off after blaming Amy's hangover and guilt over Summer. "You were just as responsible," he seethed.

@fussyMcWhiskers tweeted: "#Corrie Aaron - you liar!", @JSapier said it was "very very uncomfortable viewing" and @pam_debeauvoir fumed: "I am swearing at the screen...Amy did not lead you on in no way shape or form."

And they pleaded: "Shop him. He is victim blaming and he will never be able to continue with his lie." @DavidMackayy raged: "'You are just as responsible for what happened as me' F**k off Aaron!!!"

@itzzzo_ raged: "The victim blaming from Aaron is vile." And they asked: "How does Aaron not realise it was so much more than him and Amy being drunk? Dreadful character."

Viewers are now even more convinced that a murder could take place when Amy's killer mum Tracy Barlow, who famously bludgeoned partner Charlie Stubbs to death with an ornament in 2007, finds out. @WilliamWillh gasped: "Tracey is going to murder Aaron!" And @RKTovey said: "Tell Tracey, Amy, she'll go murder Aaron."

@sofaneilas wrote: "We need Tracyluv to find out what happened ASAP so she can sort Aaron out." @liamjmellor80 said: "I want Amy to tell Tracy, just so she can go and nail Aaron to a wall."
