Corrie character takes sinister revenge after brutal murder - but they're caught out

Coronation Street airs revenge next week, as one resident wants payback after a brutal murder.

Youngster Hope Stape decides to take action, after her pet chinchilla Cilla is brutally killed on the ITV soap in upcoming scenes.

In scenes to air this week, Hope walks in to find Cilla's cage open, and she suddenly finds her beloved pet dead on the floor yards away from her killer.

Next week in the aftermath, Hope decides to take action in a bid to bring Cilla's killer, Peanut the dog, to justice.

Given her past actions, from causing fires and almost killing people, we wouldn't want to be on the wrong side of Hope!

Next week, Hope confides in Sam how she intends to have her revenge for Cilla’s murder - while Peanut's owner Beth shares her guilt to Hope's mother Fiz.

She soon makes a dig about "the posh rat" causing a fight between them, but that is the least of their worries.

Hope has a plan in action, and after stealing David Platt's stuffed weasel she carefully places its mouth around the skin of her arm.

Hope approaches Peanut and lets out a scream, clearly trying to make it look as though she's been attacked, but will it work?

Later in the week she goes a step further, and as Beth confronts her Hope returns home in tears, and reveals that Beth slapped her in the face.

Fiz and Tyrone confront Beth over Hope’s allegation, but she denies it - so is Hope lying and will Beth get into trouble?

It comes as soap boss Iain MacLeod hinted what was ahead for Hope as a result of a twist involving Cilla, with it now thought to be linked to the death.

Iain told The Mirror and other press: "Fiz and Tyrone are trying to put the troubles behind them but there's some difficulty of parenting Hope going forward and Hope's troubled behaviour ends up in a fairly acrimonious feud with one of her adult neighbours that involves a chinchilla.

"That's the sort of tone we've got with that family next year, there's difficult bits and Hope's behaviour will become increasingly difficult but the chinchilla stuff is very funny and light-hearted."

Coronation Street airs Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8pm on ITV1 and ITV X.
