Coronation Street fans spot problem with 'laughable' court case

Coronation Street viewers spotted a problem during Wednesday's episode as Ryan Connor faced his day in court after a stealing money from the Bistro.

The DJ has been yearning to return to Ibiza ever since he landed back in Weatherfield in 2018. And he was told he could have a stake in a new bar alongside his friends - if he could just come up with £5,000.

Desperate, he and Bistro manager Debbie Webster concocted a scheme to each come into some money, while performing the "perfect victimless crime".

However, it all went horribly wrong and Ryan was caught by police. After being arrested, he also found out Debbie had betrayed him, denying her involvement.

He was then facing charges with everyone thinking he had simply broken in to take the cash for himself. The week's second instalment to the cobbles saw Ryan enter a guilty plea, and many fans breathed a sigh of relief when he was later seen sinking a pint in the Rovers, having received a sentence of community service.

Other fans, however, found problems with the sequence of events. Taking to Twitter, Vera D said: "Quickest trial in history, went to court to be charged and got sentenced".

Bernice said: "Ryan's sentencing already... only got found out last week!", while Sophie said: "Ryan is up at court already? hahaha". Siobhan said: "Writers thinking that's how long it takes to go to court is actually laughable" and Murphy said: "Ryan gets community service, even though the money that he admitted stealing is still missing.."
