Coronation Street fans left distracted as Amy finds unlikely support after sudden return

Coronation Street fans have been left distracted by Toyah Habeeb as she looks set to be the unlikely support for Amy Barlow amid her rape ordeal.

During Monday night's trip to the cobbles (June 19), viewers of the ITV soap saw Toyah, played by Georgia Taylor, working behind the bar at the Bistro where she was seen serving Amy and her pal Summer Spellman shots.

Amy, portrayed by Elle Mulvaney, was trying to let her hair down after Aaron Sanford dropped the libel case against her after she publicly declared he had raped her during a drunken night together.

As he struggled to write the retraction which would ultimately have seen Amy claim to have lied about what Aaron did, her former friend went back over that night and later, he was seen visiting Amy and emotionally telling her they weren't going through with the case.

But struggling to admit what really happened, despite Amy's brave questioning of him over what happened that night, he got into his dad's car and left the cobbles, leading to an exit for both Aaron and actor James Craven.

During the first visit to Weatherfield this week, Amy shared a positive moment with her friend Summer, played by Harriet Bibby, where she told her she didn't want Aaron to ruin her life anymore. However, Amy's positivity was short-lived when her university tutor told her she needed to retake the entire year if she wanted to rejoin her studies.

Amy considered dropping out of her studies completely before Summer encouraged her to stick it out by pointing out they'd be starting the course together. The pair then headed out and as Amy downed shots, Toyah expressed concern.

With Summer in agreement that their next shot should be the last one, Amy encouraged Summer to have a dance with her, only for her to be triggered by a man dragging his intoxicated wife up for a dance despite her refusal and lashed out at him before leaving a hurry and throwing up outside.

But away from the seriousness of what Amy is going through, Corrie fans found themselves distracted by Toyah's return. which also saw the counsellor earlier head to the florist to buy a bunch of flowers from Mary Taylor. and were distracted by her new look after a recent absent from screens.

@fansvfavourites tweeted: "Omg toyah’s stunning blonde weave #Corrie." @ChurchieBoy1986 wrote: "Toyah got a new haircut #Corrie." @OliReading posted: "#Corrie Toyah gone blonde!" @AntMelia94 added: "Omg Toyah?! I thought this was Grace Randolph! #Corrie."

However, it wasn't just her new locks that were causing a confusion. @RyanTheSoapking said: "Since when did Toyah work at the Bistro? We barely see her work there? Unless she's covering for Leanne. #Corrie."

@Dee_Cee95x asked: "When did Toyah start working behind the bar at the bistro? #Corrie." @lewispringle echoed: "Since when did Toyah work at the bistro? #corrie." However, @lil_fairy_doll clarified: "She said earlier on, she's helping out since the late license."
