Converted garage in Easton goes on the market as a 'bungalow' for almost £200,000

A 'bungalow' in Easton the size of a horse stable has gone on the market for £190,000. Redfield estate agent’s CJ Hole present the converted garage as an 'affordable way for first time buyers to get on the property ladder'.

The entire property measures at a total of 16.4 square metres and has been split in half with a separate living space, bedroom and tiny 'shower room'. The open-plan living space which is just two metres wide has a compact kitchen complete with a washer/dryer and a fridge-freezer, although they are not visible in the photos.

But what the bungalow lacks in space, the agent says, it makes up for in energy efficiency, complete with solar panels and underfloor heating.

To call the private alleyway to the side of the property 'a courtyard' is particularly generous. But it certainly provides a space for outdoor bike storage.

But Bristol’s popularity has estate agents convinced that the small property will attract first-time buyers who are keen to live in the popular neighbourhood. The property description says: “In the heart of Easton with easy access to both local high streets St Marks Road and Stapleton Road, of which both have a diverse range of locally-owned amenities offering up the best the area has to offer.”

The other main selling point are the modern features. “Oak sliding door from the lounge/kitchen area opens to the double bedroom and leading on to an en-suite. The bathroom consists of a brand new modern three-piece shower suite including a premium ultra-low profile shower tray and includes a mains powered LED mirror cabinet complete with shaver/toothbrush socket inside and a high spec Triton shower.” You can view the property here.

While mortgage rates are currently at a 15-year-high, house prices across the UK are beginning to fall but this national trend doesn’t seem to have impacted Bristol yet. According to Halifax, last month saw the fastest fall in house prices for 12 years.
