Colorado’s Shedeur Sanders Suffered Fractured Back vs. Washington State

Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders left his team’s Nov. 17 matchup against Washington State with an undisclosed injury and then missed his team’s final game of the season Saturday with the same injury. In a video posted recently by Well Off Media, the YouTube channel run by his brother Deion Sanders Jr., it was revealed that Shedeur suffered a fracture in his back in the game against the Cougars.

Before the season finale against Utah, the two brothers were walking onto the field together, and Deion Jr. could be heard asking Shedeur if the team was going to disclose his injury and he said, “I don’t think so.” Deion Jr. went on to say that he wants people to know what Shedeur is going through before the quarterback walked away.

At the bottom of the screen, the text reads, “He has a fracture in his back.”

Freshman quarterback Ryan Staub filled in for Shedeur over against the Utes and threw for 195 yards and a touchdown in the 23–17 loss. The defeat marked the Buffaloes’ sixth loss in a row, with their season ending at 4–8 overall and 1–8 in Pac-12 play.
