Low-cost coach company FlixBus has a limited number of low-priced tickets available on selected lines to help encourage passengers to consider using long-distance bus travel more often.

With one of the busiest weekends of the year in London set to take place during the Coronation of King Charles on May, 6, FlixBus has a number of £2 tickets for passengers from Bristol looking to travel to the city to celebrate with the crowds.

Flixbus, which celebrated its two-year anniversary just last week, has also increased the number of services it operates from Bristol, from four to seven buses a day.

The cheap ticket deal applies to journeys booked from the end of April up until July, 31 and at the time of writing there are still £2 tickets left from Bristol to London on both Friday, May 5 and Saturday, May 6. The earliest morning service on the day of the Coronation leaves at 7am to arrive at Hammersmith by 9.20am.

The King and the Queen Consort will travel from Buckingham Palace from to Westminster Abbey with thousands of well-wishers expected to line to streets hoping to catch a glimpse of the new monarch.

There will be dedicated viewing areas along the procession route but these are expected to reach capacity shortly after they open at 6am. The service will be broadcast live on screens at Hyde Park, Green Park and St James's Park.

National Express is also offering a limited number of low-cost, early morning fares on the day of the Coronation, starting from as little as £4.90 one way, arriving at London Victoria at 6.20am, and passengers who would rather travel by train could be in London by 7.07am with a £35 standard single ticket from Great Western Railways.
