Christine and Paddy McGuinness seen in first public reunion since split to support kids

Christine and Paddy McGuinness put on a united front as they both attended their children's sports day – reuniting for the first time in public since their split.

The former couple shocked fans when they announced their split last year after 11 years of marriage.

Christine, 35, and Paddy, 49, share three children together; nine-year-old Penelope and seven-year-old twins Felicity and Leo.

Despite their separation, they came together on a rainy day to watch their kids participate in their school sports day.

Model Christine took to her Instagram page to share a few snaps from the event, including a selfie with her hood up as she held an umbrella over her head.

She wrote: "Proudest mummy at Sports day. Not only did my fabulous trio take part, they actually enjoyed it!

"They didn’t manage to stay for the whole day (the rain got too much for them) but for the majority they wore their big beautiful smiles, they really tried their best and they all done incredibly well Leo, Penelope, Felicity..

She also shared a snap of her hot drink and sandwich as well as a snap of one of the kids' medals.

Paddy also took to his personal page to share a short clip of him taking a bite out of a sandwich.

Speaking to the camera, he said: "School sports day. Absolutely p***ing it down."

He captioned the post: "Lovely stuff #school #sportsday #wetarse #baconbutty."

Following their split, the couple shared a statement to their fans on social media.

The statement read: "We'll always be a loving family, we still have a great relationship."

Continuing the announcement, which was shared on Instagram, the pair said they will continue to "live happily in our family home together".

With their children's autism diagnoses, the parents feel it's best to provide them with a stable routine and continue to live in the same house.

"We want to keep things the same as much as possible for the children, I don't want anything to affect them," Christine said to Lorraine Kelly.

"We are family and we'll always be family no matter what and we're living in a nice, happy home."
