Cavinder Twins Drop a Hint About Their Next Big Move

The Cavinder Twins appeared on The Today Show on Thursday and formally announced they would not be returning to play college basketball and be exploring opportunities outside of the sport.

They gave a major hint that they could be trading the basketball court for the wrestling ring.

“We love the WWE,” Haley Cavinder said on The Today Show. “Their fanbase, the sport, the fitness side of it, that fits Hanna and I’s brand and aligns great with us. We’re very excited with the future with them.”

The Twins first partnered with the pro wrestling promotion in late 2021, just a few months after the NCAA allowed college athletes to profit from their name, image and likeness. They joined 13 other student-athletes as a part of the inaugural class of WWE’s Next In Line program which offered them several different entertainment and media trainings as well as access to the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, Florida.

The college athletes were offered anywhere between fix to six figure deals for joining the program with the Cavinder Twins being the highest profile in terms of social media following. The two have over five million social media followers across their individual and joint accounts and were projected to each have over $900 million NIL valuation by On3’s metric.

They said their decision to pursue careers outside of basketball was also to show younger female athletes their opportunities beyond sport, especially because of the inequities female athletes face in terms of pro opportunities.

“I think we’ll be prime examples to show people what you can do after college with NIL experience,” Hanna said.
