It is another Saturday for a mock draft. We still only run three rounds because compensatory picks have not been announced.
In this simulation, the Cardinals have Marvin Harrison on the board when the fourth pick comes up but elect to make a trade.
They end up making two trades with the New York Giants, picking up three picks in 2025.
The simulation has the Giants trading up two spots to take a cornerback, not a quarterback. While the scenario is unlikely, there was a quarterback still on the board, so a trade could be likely.
Let’s go over this week’s mock draft.
Trade back from No. 4 to No. 6
Cardinals get picks No. 6, No. 70 (Round 3), 2025 third and fourth-round picks
Giants get pick No. 4
With Jayden Daniels on the board, this figured to be a trade up so the Giants could take him. They selected Iowa cornerback Cooper DeJean. That won’t happen in real life.
The Patriots took receiver Malik Nabers with the third pick and the Chargers go with Harrison fifth overall, which leads to the Cardinals’ pick at No. 6.
Round 1 (No. 6 overall): Washington WR Rome Odunze
The Cardinals get one heck of a receiver in Odunze, who is a 50-50 ball merchant. He has size and length, and he also has good speed for his size.
He ran the 40 in 4.45 seconds and had a 39-inch vertical leap to go with his nearly 6-foot-3 frame and 212 pounds.
He reminds NFL Network analyst Daniel Jeremiah of Larry Fitzgerald, which is perhaps the highest compliment a Cardinals fane can hear.
Round 1 (No. 27 overall): Washington OT Troy Fautanu
With the 27th pick, they go with the Washington tackle, filling a need they have because of D.J. Humphries’ knee injury.
Trade back from No. 35 to No. 39
Cardinals get picks No. 39 (Round 2) and No. 108 (Round 4), 2025 fifth-round pick
Giants get pick No. 35
This time, the Giants want to trade up and it is for a quarterback, as they take Oregon’s Bo Nix.
The Cardinals pick up another draft pick and now have the Giants’ third, fourth and fifth-round picks in 2025.
Round 2 (No. 39 overall): Penn State EDGE Chop Robinson
For this second straight year, the go with a pass rusher. Robinson is nearly 6-foot-3 and 254 pounds, and he is a freak athlete with a 4.48-second 40 time.
Round 3 (No. 66 overall): Connecticut G Christian Haynes
Haynes gives the Cardinals get a big guard. He played three seasons at right guard, setting the team up for after 2024 when Will Hernandez’ contract expires.
Round 3 (No. 70 overall): Washington EDGE Bralen Trice
The Cardinals get a second pass rusher and third Washington Huskies player with Trice. He has gone as high as the first round in some mock drafts.
Round 3 (No. 71 overall): DL Brandon Dorlus
The Cardinals add size and athleticism on the defensive interior. He is 6-foot-3 and 283 pounds. He had five sacks and 6.5 tackles for loss last season for Oregon from the interior.
Round 3 (No. 90 overall) Louisville CB Jarvis Brownlee Jr.
Brownlee played two seasons for Louisville after three with Florida State. He was Kei’Trel Clark’s (2023 fifth-round pick and cornerback) teammate. he had an interception in the Senior Bowl.
