Rugby union player Kurtley Beale's legal team has received the brief of evidence against him as he prepares to fight sexual assault charges.
The 34-year-old was charged in January with two counts of sexually touching another person without consent, inciting another to sexually touch without consent and sexual intercourse without consent in Sydney's eastern suburbs.
Beale is accused of sexually assaulting a 28-year-old woman at a licensed premises near Bondi Beach on December 17.
He has not yet been required to enter a plea but his legal team have indicated he will fight the charges.
The case was mentioned briefly in Waverley Local Court on Wednesday, when Beale was not required to appear.
His lawyer Lauren MacDougall said she has received the brief of evidence and the prosecuting solicitor has too.
Beale's matter moves to Downing Centre Local Court for charge certification on June 15, but he will only be required to attend if the prosecution case is ready to proceed.
Beale is on bail after surrendering his passport.
He has been ordered to not contact witnesses and report to police daily.
The Waratahs and Wallabies back has played 95 games for Australia.
He won the 2011 John Eales medal for player of the year.
Rugby Australia has suspended Beale from all forms of rugby as the case continues.
