BBC The One Show: Michael Sheen and David Tennant share sweet insight into off-screen friendship

Welsh actor Michael Sheen has shared a sweet insight into his friendship with David Tennant. The pair appeared on The One Show's famous green sofa on Monday, July 10 to talk about the second season of Good Omens.

The popular fantasy comedy series is based on the novel of the same name by Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett. Sheen plays the angel Aziraphale and David takes on the role of demon Crowley.

Speaking about the series, presenter Alex Jones said: "At the heart of Good Omens is this unlikely friendship between you two. In real life, you filmed it, you didn't know each other and then you clicked, look at them, they are joined at the hip now."

Alex continued: "You even had babies at the same time. David, your wife Georgia posted this picture of you two leaving the hospital."

The studio then showed a side-by-side image of both men walking out of the hospital with their newborn daughters, who were born at the end of 2019, in baby car seats. The caption read: "An angel, a demon, and a couple of babies. What could possibly go wrong?"

This prompted Michael to share: "And now those two little babies are nearly four and they send each other little video messages."

"Well they are babies of the pandemic so that's how they think everyone communicates," David added.

Michael and David joined Nicole Kidman and Zoe Saldana on the sofa who were there to promote their new Paramount+ series Special Ops: Lioness. Many at home were gutted the 30-minute episode wasn't longer due to the amount of talent on the sofa.

Taking to Instagram afterward, Alex said: "Ah. What a brilliant start to the week. Nicole Kidman and Zoe Saldana were just lovely. Really down to earth and funny and then Michael Sheen and David Tennant turned up and took it to a whole new level. If Carlsberg made Mondays... you can watch it on @bbciplayer."

The One Show continues week nights at 7pm on BBC One and BBC iPlayer. For more showbiz and television stories get our newsletter here.
