BBC One Show: Anne-Marie shares unusual tour request ahead of performing at Wales' biggest festival

Singer-songwriter Anne-Marie has revealed she has asked her team to arrange for a puppy to join her while she's on tour! The 32-year-old star and mentor on The Voice UK made the revelation while chatting to Alex Jones and Jermaine Jenas during Friday’s, May 19 episode of The One Show.

Following a segment on the benefits of having a dog, Jermaine asked Anne-Marie: “You don’t own a dog do you? I’ve heard that you request them as part of your rider at shows?” and she confirmed it to be true.

“I want a dog, don’t get me wrong,” Anne-Marie said. “But I’m so busy that I wouldn’t be able to give it the love that it needs. I haven’t had one yet but when I go on tour, you have a rider where you normally put peanut butter and your specific drinks that you want or whatever and I asked for a dog!” For the latest TV and showbiz news sign up to our newsletter here.

The studio erupted into laughter and Anne-Marie added: “It’s happened. Whenever people have got a dog locally or they want to just get rid of the dog for a day then I take care of it.”

Jermaine then asked: “So you're a dog sitter on tour basically?” And Anne-Marie proudly replied: “Yeah,” before bursting out laughing.

Anne-Marie's appearance on the programme comes just a week before she's set to take to the stage at one of Wales’ biggest festivals, In It Together Festival at Old Park Farm in Margam, Neath Port Talbot. The festival returns on the late May Bank Holiday weekend, having made its debut last year during the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Weekend - you can read our guide on everything you need to know about this year's event here.

At the end of The One Show Anne-Marie performed her poignant new single, Unhealthy. Over on social media viewers praised her performance, with one person writing: “That first time performance of #unhealthy now was so beautiful, how gorgeous you sounded.”

A second commented: “Nice to see Anne-Marie singing something different. She’s good at country.” And a third wrote: “Dancing round my living room to @AnneMarie on #TheOneShow”

The One Show airs on BBC One and BBC iPlayer on weekdays at 7pm.
