BBC Blankety Blank Bradley Walsh apologises to player as he retracts comment

Bradley Walsh was in hysterics as he retracted a comment on tonight's Blankety Blank.

The 62-year-old host welcomed two new players on the revamped version of the popular BBC game show. Jim and Joanne had to fill in the blanks of missing words and statements from celebrities to win a prize.

Joanne triumphed over Jim to make it to the grand final and Bradley made an error as he sent a message to the departing player. He said: "You're not going home empty handed Jim because you won some money."

However the host was in stitches when he revealed Jim did not actually win a cash prize during the show. He said: "I'm so sorry. I forgot you actually didn't win and are going home empty handed. But you're not because you're going home with a Blankety Blank cheque book and pen."

Jim shot back: "I really am." Gogglebox's Scarlet Moffatt was on the panel and was in disbelief at Bradley's error.

The host was in fits of laughter as he said: "I actually haven't got a clue how this show works. You're not going home empty-handed. Yes you are. I've lost the will to live now. I have no idea what is gong on."

Viewers following the show on Twitter heaped praise on the Chase host after tonight's episode of Blankety Blank.

Chris said: "Watching the repeat of Blankety Blank reminded me that Bradley Walsh is even better on this than The Chase"

RG added; "Bradley and Rhod [Gilbert] have been hilarious this episode
